Description

DVOBF indicates whether the woman has experienced physical violence from her boyfriend (current or past).

Most surveys include separate response categories for current and former boyfriends, which can be found in the following variables:

  • Current boyfriend is listed as DVOBFNOW (D115K) in IPUMS-DHS
  • Former boyfriend is listed as DVOBFPAST (D115L) in IPUMS-DHS
