Description

LYFILHEAR indicates whether the respondent for the household survey has heard of the illness Lymphatic Filariasis. According to the Centers for Disease Control, Lymphatic Fiariasis is a neglected tropical disease caused by microscopic parasitic worms that live in the lymph system. These parasites are spread by mosquitoes. According to the CDC, the condition is a leading cause of disability, but the illness can be treated by medication.
