Description

GEOALT_ GN1999_2012 indicates the region of Guinea where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples.

Labels identify the modern geographic units (natural regions) contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable. Additional integrated variables are available, with GEO_GN1999_2021 containing less geographic detail (regions) and GEO_GN2005_2021 containing greater geographic detail (regions).
