Description
KIDBIRTHYR_NP (B2) reports the child's year of birth. It is only available for Nepali samples.
Comparability
KIDBIRTHYR_NP has no comparability problems across Nepali samples.
Nepal and Ethiopia use different calendars than the other DHS countries, and Nepali/Ethiopian years do not directly correspond to Gregorian years. For this reason, two country-specific variables are released for only Nepali and Ethiopian samples: KIDBIRTHYR_ET for Ethiopia and KIDBIRTHYR_NP for Nepal.
