ATTG2 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the female respondent reported a private doctor's office as a place to be tested for the AIDS virus. This response category is country-specific to Togo.

Some samples in the "AT" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

ATTG2 is combined with ATTG1 (private hospital/clinic) in ATPRIVHOS (all private hospitals, clinics, and doctors) for the 2013 Togo sample. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using ATTG2 are encouraged to review ATPRIVHOS for a more comprehensive response category.

ATTG2 has no comparability problems.

Comparability - Standard DHS

An open-ended question about where one can get tested for the AIDS virus is included in Phase V forward of the standard DHS questionnaire.

Although ATTG2 is a country-specific response not included in the standard DHS modules, it is combined with other responses in ATPRIVHOS, a standard variable that encompasses all private hospitals, clinics, and doctors as potential sources for an AIDS test.
