Description

GEO_PE1991_2012 indicates the region of Peru where the respondent was interviewed. These 13 regions in this variable represent group of departments represented in the 1991 sample. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples.

Labels identify the modern geographic units (regions) contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable. The variable GEO_PE1996_2012 presents the data across Peru's 25 departments. GEOALT_PE1986_2012 shows the natural regions of the country.
