For women who were randomly selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, DVCCHEATFQ reports how often the female respondent's husband/partner accused her of unfaithfulness in the past 12 months.
Comparability
Along with universe differences, response categories for DVCCHEATFQ vary across samples.
Harmonized coding in the IPUMS-DHS variable DVCCHEATFQ were constructed to accommodate differences in frequencies reported across surveys. The major categories are:
- 100: Yes, timing and frequency unknown
- 200: Yes, husband ever accuses her of unfaithfulness
The second and third digits of DVCCHEATFQ's codes distinguish between specific time periods and provide detail only present in some samples.
