Description

IHGISDO2010POPG1P reports the probability that the DHS sample cluster was placed in the correct IHGIS geographic unit from the Dominican Republic 2010 sample in the complementary variable IHGISDO2010POPG1. The census-to-DHS geography crosswalk variable uses a 2-kilometer (for urban areas) or 5-kilometer (for rural areas) buffer around each DHS sample cluster, to account for cluster displacement (a confidentiality measure employed by The DHS Program). These buffers are then overlaid on first-level geographic units from published census tables. If the buffer crosses the boundaries of two or more first-level geographic units, we report the code for the geographic unit with the highest placement probability index.

IHGISDO2010POPG1P reports the placement probability index to indicate the likelihood that the cluster was placed in the correct census geographic unit.
