Description

ABORTWHO reports who performed the respondent's most recent abortion.

The harmonized coding categories in the IPUMS-DHS variable ABORTWHO were constructed to reflect the major and minor categories in the original DHS variable. The major categories are:

  • 10: Health professional
  • 20: Other person

The second digit of ABORTWHO's codes distinguish between specific individuals.
