For women who gave birth in the five years before the survey, ANCAREFP_01 indicates whether she was given information about family planning at least once during antenatal care (for the last birth).

ANCAREFP_01 is a country-specific variable, and it is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire.
Comparability — Egypt [top]
The 2000 and 2003 Egypt surveys ask whether anyone discussed family planning with the woman when she received a tetanus injection during the pregnancy.
Comparability — India [top]
The 2015 India survey asks whether the respondent received advice about "family planning or delaying or avoiding another pregnancy" in a meeting with a community health worked during the last 3 months of her pregnancy.
Universe
- Egypt 2000: Ever-married women age 15-49 who gave birth in the 5 years before the survey and who received at least one tetanus injection during the pregnancy.
- Egypt 2003: Ever-married women age 15-49 who gave birth in the 5 years before the survey and who received at least one tetanus injection during the pregnancy.
- India 2015: Women age 15-49 who gave birth in the 5 years before the survey and met with a community health worker in the last 3 months of their pregnancy.
- Kenya 2014: Women age 15-49 who gave birth in the 5 years before the survey and who received any antenatal care, in households selected for the long questionnaire.
- Morocco 2003: Women age 15-49 who gave birth in the 5 years before the survey and who received any antenatal care.
