Description

ATGH3 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the woman reported a public health post or Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) program as a place to be tested for the AIDS virus. This response category is country-specific to Ghana.

Although IPUMS-DHS integrates "public health post" (see ATPUBHP) across samples, ATGH3 is not included in that integrated variable because multiple sources are consolidated into a single category in ATGH3.

ATGH3 has no comparability problems.

Comparability - Standard DHS

An open-ended question about where one can get tested for the AIDS virus is included in Phase V forward of the standard DHS questionnaire. ATGH3 is a country-specific response not included in the standard DHS modules.
