Description

ATRTD7 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the woman reported a private health center as a potential source of treatment for HIV/AIDS. This variable is country-specific to Chad.

Some samples in the "ATR" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

ATRTD7 (private health center) is combined with ATRTD8 (private corporate health center) in ATRPRIVHC (all private health centers) for the 2004 Chad sample. IPUMS DHS users interested in using ATRTD7 are encouraged to review ATRPRIVHC for a more comprehensive response category.

Comparability

ATRTD7 has no comparability problems.

Comparability - Standard DHS

ATRTD7 is a country-specific variable, and it is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire.
