Description
BPCONSENT indicates whether permission was granted for the female respondent's blood pressure to be measured (as an indicator of high blood pressure) or, if not, why not. Interviewers read a statement about blood pressure testing and requested permission to measure the individual's blood pressure; blood pressure was measured only if consent was given by the persons themselves (if adults) or by a parent or guardian (if a minor).
