Description

The DHS Recode Manuals define CALSTARTCMC (V017) as follows: "Century month code for the first month of the calendar. This is constant for all cases and is
the century month code of January of the first year of the calendar."

Longitudinal calendar data, covering approximately five years before the survey interview, were organized as person-months of exposure and recorded the timing of pregnancies, pregnancy terminations, births, and contraceptive use.

Century months express time as months since the start of the year 1900, according to the Gregorian calendar. For more information on how century months are calculated, see INTDATECMC (V008).
