Description
CONLBRAND reports the brand name of the condom used the last time the respondent had sex.
Comparability
Along with universe differences, the brands listed in CONLBRAND (V762A) vary across samples.
To maximize comparability, IPUMS-DHS uses composite coding, with the first digit indicating the following major categories:
- 0: No brand
- 100: Social marketing brand
- 200: Public sector brand
- 300: Private sector brand
The second and third digits of CONLBRAND's codes distinguish between specific brands in these categories and provide detail present in only some samples.
