Description

For women who did not use a condom the last time they had sex with their third-most-recent partner, CONUS3YNOT reports why a condom was not used. Response categories vary across samples. See Comparability.

Comparability

In addition to slight differences in question wording, the response categories in CONUS3YNOT vary across samples.

To maximize comparability, IPUMS-DHS uses composite coding, with the first digit denoting broad categories (e.g., "Access problems" have a first digit of "1"), while the second digit provides additional detail, when available. For example, a code of "12" indicates "Not available."
