DIAGIVFLUIDTYPE (DIAGIVFLUIDTYPE)
Type of fluid given for diarrhea

Codes

This variable is not available for any of the currently selected samples.

Description

For surviving children under age five who had diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIAGIVFLUIDTYPE indicates the type of fluid given to the child to treat the diarrhea.

Unlike most other (dichotomous) variables relating to food and liquid intake during diarrheal disease, DIAGIVFLUIDTYPE includes a list of fluids. If the mother fed the child more than one type of liquid (both pre-prepared ORS and juice, for example), she was to report the main fluid given.

Comparability

Apart from universe differences and slight differences in question wording, DIAGIVFLUIDTYPE has no comparability issues.
