Description
For women who had experienced physical or sexual abuse, DVHHELPLINE indicates whether they sought help from a helpline to stop that abuse.
Comparability
Apart from universe differences and slight differences in question wording, DVHHELPLINE has no comparability problems.
Comparability - Standard DHS
DVHHELPLINE is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire, but it is based on a question included in Phase IV forward of the standard domestic violence module.
Universe
- South Africa 2016: Women age 18-49 who were selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, and who have experienced physical violence since age 15, while pregnant, or at any time from their current/former spouse/partner/boyfriend, or sexual violence at any time.
