For women who were randomly selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, DVOFRND (D115XD) indicates whether they had been physically hurt by a friend (gender unspecified) since age 15.
Comparability
Apart from slight differences in question wording, DVOFRND (D115XD) is largely comparable across samples.
Comparability - Standard DHS
Questions asking about violence from a "female friend/acquaintance" or a "male friend/acquaintance" is neither included in the DHS domestic violence module for any phase nor the question about a "friend" (gender unspecified) included in any phase of the standard form of the DHS domestic violence module.
