Description
For women who were randomly selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module and had experienced physical or sexual violence from their husband/partner resulting in bruises or aches, DVRBRUISENO (D110AN) reports the number of times the woman experienced such bruising in the past 12 months.

Comparability - Standard DHS
DVRBRUISENO (D110AN) is not included in the standard DHS questionnaire for any phase, but it is included in phase IV of the standard domestic violence module.
Comparability — Mali [top]
While other samples report the number of times a woman had "bruises or aches" in DVRBRUISENO, the Mali 2006 sample reports the number of times a woman had "bruises or lumps."

- Burkina Faso 2010: Women age 15-49 who were selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, who have ever been married or lived with a man, who have ever experienced physical or sexual violence from their husband/partner, and experienced bruises or aches as a result of violence.
- Cameroon 2004: Women age 15-49 who were selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, who have ever been married or lived with a man (except for widows), who have ever experienced physical or sexual violence from their husband/partner, and who had bruises or aches as a result of their husband's/partner's actions.
- Cote d'Ivoire 2011: Women age 15-49 who were selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, who have ever been married or lived with a man, who have ever experienced physical or sexual violence from their husband/partner, and experienced bruises or aches as a result of violence.
- Kenya 2003: Women age 15-49 who were selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, who have ever been married or lived with a man (except for widows), who have ever experienced physical or sexual violence from their husband/partner, and who had bruises or aches as a result of their husband's/partner's actions.
- Malawi 2004: Women age 15-49 who were selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, who have ever been married or lived with a man, who have ever experienced physical or sexual violence from their husband/partner, and who had bruises or aches as a result of their husband's/partner's actions.
