EXERWEEK reports the number of days the woman respondent has exercised, with vigorous physical activity for at least 15 minutes at a time, in the last week. "Vigorous physical activity" is defined as an activity that makes the respondent breathe much harder than normal and may include heavy lifting, digging, jogging, or fast bicycling.

Apart from universe differences and slight differences in question wording, EXERWEEK has no comparability problems.

EXERWEEK is a country-specific variable, and it is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire.

The 2013 Namibia survey asks about exercise for at least 10 minutes.
- Ghana 2008: All women age 15-49.
- Namibia 2013: Women age 15-64 who exercised during the past week somewhere other than at work.
