Description
FCDEINFIB indicates whether the woman's vaginal area had to be cut, after having been sewn during circumcision, to accommodate menstrual flow or sex after marriage.
Comparability
Along from universe differences and slight differences in wording, there is variation in response categories for FCDEINFIB, but this variable is largely comparable across samples.
Due to the question being closed-ended, the majority of samples provided only "yes" and "no" as possible responses. Some samples provided additional responses and are discussed in greater detail below.
Comparability - Standard DHS
FCDEINFIB is included in neither the standard DHS questionnaire nor in any of the three versions of the standard DHS module on female circumcision.

- Burkina Faso 1998: Women age 15-49 who are circumcised.
- Chad 2004: Women age 15-49 who are circumcised.
- Cote d'Ivoire 1998: Women age 15-49 who are circumcised.
- Egypt 1995: Ever-married women age 15-49 who are circumcised and whose vaginal area was sewn closed or who did not know if their vaginal area was sewn closed.
- Guinea 1999: Women age 15-49 who are circumcised.
- Niger 1998: Women age 15-49 who are circumcised.
