Description
Women who agreed with the FCCTRAD or FCCUSTTRAD variables (female circumcision should continue because it is good tradition or because it is a custom and tradition, respectively) were asked in an open-ended question to explain what was meant by a good tradition. FCGTHPLEAS captures whether they mentioned the practice is a good tradition due to increased sexual pleasure for the husband.

Apart from slight differences in question wording, FCGTHPLEAS has no comparability problems.

FCGTHPLEAS is a country-specific variable and is included in neither the standard DHS questionnaire nor in any version of the standard DHS module on female circumcision.
