Description
For women who are not currently using a method of contraception and are at risk of pregnancy, FPYNOTHUSAWAY indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported their husband being away as the reason for not using contraception.

Apart from universe differences and slight differences in question wording, FPYNOTHUSAWAY is largely comparable across samples.

FPYNOTHUSAWAY is a country-specific variable, but it is included in a series of variables, in Phase IV forward of the standard DHS questionnaire, about the reason(s) the respondent is not using any method to delay pregnancy.
