Description

GEOALT_NG2008_2018 reports the region of Nigeria where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples.

Labels identify the modern geographic units (states) contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable. An additional integrated variable, GEO_NG2003_2018, includes the 2003 Nigeria sample and contains less geographic detail (grouped states).

Comparability

The Nigeria 1990, 1999, and 2003 samples are excluded from GEOALT_NG2008_2018 due to inconsistent boundaries.
