Description
GEO_CO1986_2015 reports the region of Colombia where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples for Colombia.
Labels identify the modern geographic units (regions) contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable. All Colombia samples have greater geographic detail available in their sample-specific variables than in the integrated variables.

Colombia is divided into six regions in GEO_CO1986_2015:

Pacific
Central
Oriental
Bogota
Orinoquia and Amazon (Territorios Nacionales)
Orinoquia and Amazon (Territorios Nacionales) was excluded from the survey in 1986, 1990, 1995, and 2000. The 2005, 2010, and 2015 surveys also include more detailed information at the department level for the entire country.
