Description

GEO_ MZ1997_2022 indicates the region of Mozambique where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples.

Labels identify the modern geographic units (provinces) contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable.

Comparability

The boundaries between Maputo City and Maputo Province changed in 2022. These two regions are combined in this variable but are separate in the year-specific variables.

The 2018 sample corresponds to a Malaria Indicators Survey (MIS).
