Description
HIGHBPDIAG indicates whether the respondent has ever been diagnosed (by a health care professional) with high blood pressure or hypertension.
Comparability
Apart from universe differences and slight differences in question wording, HIGHBPDIAG has no comparability problems.

HIGHBPDIAG is a country-specific variable for most DHS phases. In Phase 8, the standard variable CHD02 is included in the optional module on chronic disease.
