Description
For women who are currently married but not living with their husband/partner, HUSAWAYTIM reports the amount of time (in days, months, or years) the woman's husband has been living elsewhere.

Apart from universe differences, the meaning of HUSAWAYTIM is largely comparable across samples. However, some samples allowed reporting in days, months, or years, while others reported only in months, or only in months or years.

The 2001 Nepal survey is top coded at 25 months. This is coded as 296 ("More than 95 months").
Comparability — Tunisia [top]
The 1988 Tunisia survey first asks whether the respondent's husband has done work away from where the respondent has been living for more than one month in the past 12 months (WKHUSAWAY1MO). The questionnaire then asks how long the respondent's husband has been away from her. Users should note that the 1988 Tunisian sample refers specifically to husbands who have been living away due to work.
