Description

IHGISGH2021POPG1 is a geographic crosswalk variable that enables users to link DHS sample clusters to corresponding geography from census tabulations in the IHGIS database from Ghana 2021. The complementary variable IHGISGH2021POPG1P reports the probability that a DHS sample cluster was placed in the correct IHGIS census geographic unit in IPUMS IHGIS.

Users can attach aggregate population census data from IHGIS to the units in IHGISGH2021POPG1 and attach those measures to IPUMS DHS individuals or households as contextual information for microdata analysis.

Comparability

A code of 0 means that the respective DHS cluster does not have associated location information. If this is the case, the corresponding probability variable will also be coded as 0.
