Description

IHGISMG2005AGG2 is a geographic crosswalk variable that enables users to link DHS sample clusters to corresponding geography from agricultural census tabulations in the IHGIS database for Madagascar 2005. The complementary variable IHGISMG2005AGG2P reports the probability that a DHS sample cluster was placed in the correct IHGIS census geographic unit in IPUMS IHGIS.

Users can attach aggregate agricultural census data from IHGIS to the units in IHGISMG2005AGG2 and attach those measures to IPUMS DHS individuals or households as contextual information for microdata analysis.

Comparability

A code of 0 means that the respective DHS cluster does not have associated location information. If this is the case, the corresponding probability variable will also be coded as 0.
