Description

INJRECENTANY indicates whether the woman received an injection for any reason in the 2 to 12 months preceding the survey.

Comparability

INJRECENTANY varies in the length of time preceding the survey that the woman was asked about. Most surveys ask about injections during the last 12 months, following the standard DHS questionnaire. However, some surveys, noted below, ask about injections during the preceding 2, 3 or 6 months.

Comparability - Standard DHS

INJRECENTANY is derived, in most cases, from recoding into yes/no format the responses to the standard DHS question for INJRECENTNO (V477), which reports how many injections the woman had in the last 12 months. The latter question is included and consistent in the standard DHS questionnaire from phase V forward.
