Description

NEWSWK (V109) indicates whether the woman usually reads a newspaper or magazine at least once a week.

NEWSWK (V109) is included in the standard DHS questionnaire for Phases I through III. A similar question appears in Phase IV forward, where respondents were asked how often they read a newspaper or magazine. The latter question is the basis for the variable NEWSFQ (V157).
