Description
PARTNERSEX reports the sex of the woman's partner (spouse, live-in partner, regular boyfriend/partner, or fiancé).
Comparability
PARTNERSEX has no comparability problems. Most other DHS samples have implicitly assumed that the "partner" or "spouse" of a female respondent is necessarily male.
Comparability - Standard DHS
PARTNERSEX is a country-specific variable, and it is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire.

- South Africa 2016: Women age 15-49 who are currently married or living with a partner or who have a regular boyfriend, partner, or fiance.
