Description

For women who have had a pregnancy terminated through abortion, stillbirth or miscarriage, PREGTERMINYR (V230) reports the year when the last pregnancy termination occurred, according to the Gregorian calendar.

The 2006 Eswatini (Swaziland) survey asked about pregnancy termination due to miscarriage or abortion, but not due to stillbirth, for this variable.

Comparability — Madagascar [top]

The Madagascar 1992 survey asks separately for the month and year of the woman's miscarriage and abortion, if she had either. Users should be attentive to the survey text when using this variable for these samples.

The Madagascar 2003 and 2008 surveys do not share the 1992 survey's comparability issue.
