Codes and Frequencies
YRSCHLBI reports the number of years of education the respondent completed at the highest level of schooling achieved, as reported in EDUCLVLBI. This variable is country-specific to Burundi.
YRSCHLBI has no comparability problems.
Because YRSCHLBI reports the number of years of schooling at the level achieved, "4 years" does not mean 4 years total, but 4 years at whichever level of education the respondent achieved. Thus, a code of 4 could indicate 4 years of primary school, 1st cycle of secondary school, or 2nd cycle of secondary school, for example. Users should consult the Survey Text tab for exact question wording and surrounding questions.
Comparability - Standard DHS
