GEO_CM2011 (V101_CM2011) indicates the region of Cameroon where the respondent was interviewed. DHS units in the 2011 Cameroon survey are equivalent to regions, with two cities, Douala and Yaoundé, remaining autonomous regions.

Other sample years have their own sample-specific geography variables. There are also integrated variables, GEO_CM1991_2011 and GEO_CM2004_2011, that provide spatially consistent units over time.

A GIS map for GEO_CM2011 (in shapefile format) can be downloaded from the DHS Program Spatial Data Repository Boundaries page.
