Description

GEO_HN2005_2011 indicates the region of Honduras where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples.

Labels identify the modern geographic units (departments) contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable.

Comparability

Gracias a Dios and Islas de la Bahia departments were excluded from the 2005 survey.

In the 2011 sample, Cortés does not include the city of San Pedro Sula and Francisco Morazán does not include the Distrito Central.
