GEO_LK1987 (V101_ LK1987) reports the region of Sri Lanka where the respondent was interviewed. DHS regions in the 1987 Sri Lanka survey are equivalent to 7 regions as 9 Socio-economic and Ecological Zones.

Comparability

The 1987 sample for Sri Lanka includes 7 regions as 9 Socio-economic and Ecological Zones, minus the 2 excluded zones of the Eastern Coastal Belt and Northern Province, which are excluded from the survey.
