Description
GEO_VN1997_2002 indicates the region of Vietnam where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples.
Labels identify the modern geographic units contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable. The variable GEOALT_VN1997_2002 reports the project and non-project provinces in Vietnam. "Project" and "Non-project" labels refer to the provinces that were targeted in the Population and Family Health Project of the Committee for Population, Family and Children.
