Description

GEO_ ZW1994_2015 reports the region of Zimbabwe where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples.

Labels identify the modern geographic units (provinces) contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable.

Comparability

Although Harare split from Mashonaland East and Bulawayo split from Matebeleland North in 1997, boundaries of provinces remain consistent in Zimbabwe samples over time.

The Zimbabwe 1988 sample is excluded from GEO_ZW1994_2015 due to inconsistent boundaries.
