Description
GEOALT_TR2003_2018 indicates the NUTS 1 (Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics in the European Union) region of Turkey where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples.
Labels identify the modern geographic units (provinces) contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable. The 1993 and the 1998 samples, GEO_ TR1993_1998 are divided into groups of provinces, the boundaries for which are different from the groups of provinces in the 2003 to 2018 samples shown in GEO_TR2003_2018.
