Description

AIDHRDRUGHELP (V837) indicates whether the woman had heard of medicine to help people with HIV/AIDS. How such drugs were labeled and how their effects were described varies across samples. See Comparability.

Comparability

Along with universe differences, AIDHRDRUGHELP (V837) has some differences in question wording across samples. For example, some surveys refer broadly to "special drugs/medication," while others refer more narrowly to "antiretroviral drugs" (and may mention local names of specific drugs). Many, but not all, surveys specify that the drugs help recipients live longer. Surveys that did not specify whether the drugs will help people infected with HIV/AIDS live longer are noted below. Users concerned with drug wording variations should consult the Survey Text tab for samples of interest.

Comparability - Standard DHS
