Description
HCMMATRCLIN indicates whether the woman reported a "maternity/nursing home" as a source for male condoms.
In the countries where these response categories exist, maternity or nursing homes are organizations that serve expectant mothers who are either poor or have potentially high-risk pregnancies.
Comparability
Along with universe differences, HCMMATRCLIN has some variation in question wording that broadly applies to the "source for male condom" series. For discussion of question wording in this variable series, see the comparability section of HCMDK.
This response category has some variation in wording by country and phase, discussed below. The response category is typically organized under the "private medical sector" header in the survey, although some variation exists and is noted below.
Comparability - Standard DHS
An open-ended question on known sources for male condoms is included in the standard DHS questionnaire in Phases III forward. HCMMATRCLIN is country-specific and not part of the standard DHS questionnaire.

- Ghana 1998: All women age 15-49.
