Description
For women who were randomly selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module and who had a husband/partner who drank alcohol, DVDRUNKFQ reports how often their husband/partner physically or sexually abused them while drinking.
Comparability
DVDRUNKFQ has some comparability problems in relation to universes and question parameters. The comparability issues for specific samples are discussed below.
Comparability - Standard DHS
DVDRUNKFQ is neither included in the standard DHS questionnaire for any phase nor in any version of the standard domestic violence module.
Universe
- Mozambique 2011: Women age 15-49 who were selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, who have ever been married or lived with a man, who have ever experienced physical or sexual violence from their husband/partner, whose husband/partner drinks alcohol and who have reported experiencing violence when their husband/partner was drunk.
- Zimbabwe 2005: Women age 15-49 who were selected and interviewed for the domestic violence module, who have ever been married or lived with a man, who have ever experienced physical or sexual violence from their husband/partner, and whose husband/partner drinks alcohol or uses other intoxicating substances.
