Codes and Frequencies
Description
DISIMPLIMBHH indicates whether any member of the household has impairment of the limbs.
Comparability
Along with universe differences, DISIMPLIMBHH differs across samples in question wording and response categories.
To maximize comparability across samples, IPUMS-DHS uses composite coding. All affirmative responses share a common first digit of "1"; trailing digits provide additional detail only sometimes available (e.g., "Both hands and legs impaired" coded "13").
Comparability - Standard DHS
DISIMPLIMBHH is a country-specific variable, and it is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire.
