For women who were using a contraceptive method at the start of the calendar period, FPPRECALSTMO (V386) reports the month she started using the contraceptive method that was used in the first month of the calendar period.
Comparability
Apart from variation in the length of time covered by the reproductive calendar, FPPRECALSTMO (V386) is comparable across samples.
Comparability - Standard DHS
FPPRECALSTMO (V386) is included in Phase II of the standard DHS questionnaire for high contraceptive prevalence countries (i.e., using Model "A" standard questionnaires with reproductive calendar questions).
