Codes and Frequencies
Description
MLMSGTVRADIONETAD indicates whether the female respondent heard the malaria message advertisement with Kwabena (musician) recommending everyone should sleep under treated mosquito nets, either on the radio or on television in the past 6 months.
Comparability
MLMSGTVRADIONETAD is largely comparable across samples. See below for more information.
For some samples, noted below, the survey included information specifying whether the message was heard on the radio, on television, or both. To accommodate this variation, IPUMS DHS uses composite coding. All "yes" responses share a first digit code of "1"; the second digit distinguishes between whether the message was heard on television (coded "11"), on the radio (coded "12"), or on both television and radio (coded "13").
Comparability - Standard DHS
MLMSGTVRADIONETAD is a country-specific variable, and it is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire.
