Description

DEPRESSIONREFER (MTH23) indicates whether the woman received a referral for mental health treatment by DHS field staff, based on her PHQ score, an index of depression. Respondents whose PHQ score was 10 or higher, or who reported suicidal thoughts or thoughts about self-harm were supposed to get a referral for mental health services.
