Description

GEOALT_RW2014 reports the district of Rwanda where the respondent was interviewed.

Other sample years have their own sample-specific geography variables. The integrated variables GEO_RW1992_2005 and GEO_RW2005_2014 provide spatially consistent units for Rwanda over time. Information from GEOALT_RW2014 is not available in GEO_RW1992_2005 or GEO_RW2005_2014 due to inconsistent boundaries (see GEO_RW2014). Less geographic detail for the Rwanda 2014 sample can be found in GEO_RW2014.

Comparability

In 2006, the twelve provinces were abolished and replaced with the five provinces available in GEO_RW2005_2014. New districts were created as secondary units of geography, as represented in GEOALT_RW2014.

GEOALT_RW2014 is a country- and sample-specific variable and has no comparability issues.
